History: Founded in 2004, NanoTecNexus (formerly known as NanoBioNexus) has grown to be the premier nanotechnology industry organization that showcases the latest nanotechnology research with a special interest in life sciences. Headquartered in San Diego, California and with offices in Tucson AZ, San Jose California and Vancouver WA, NanoTecNexus and its affiliate University Chapters provide regular forums that present relevant nanotechnologies and discusses the impact and opportunities for industry professionals, academics, commercial companies and investors. Issues and challenges vital to this emerging field are also examined with scientific experts and industry pundits.

Mission: To catalyze collaboration and knowledge exchange in the nanotech field by connecting people, technology, investment and industry. This is accomplished through educational initiatives, forums, seminars and courses as well as leading market research that provide heightened visibility into scientific breakthroughs in the nanobio field and beyond.

Goal: To promote safe and market accepted advances in nanoscience that maximize societal benefits through new products and applications.

Vision: To be the most essential industry organization and be recognized as the leading organization of economic observers and business arbiters dedicated to the nanotechnology field with special interest in life sciences.

Corporate Values: The four standards by which we conduct business and guide our everyday actions are:
1. Excellence in Everything We Do
We know leadership is hard won and should never be taken for granted. Likewise, we know that execution and measured performance ensure our long-term success. We are committed to delivering products and services that are relevant, of the highest quality and with utmost professional execution. Continuous improvement and learning from our mistakes is a priority and the foundation we build upon.
2. Great People with Great Values
Great results are achieved through great people. Therefore, we seek to attract people with diverse talents and perspectives who are bright, creative, and energetic and who share the following values:
  • Integrity and honesty rigorously upheld at all times.
  • Passion for nanoscience.
  • Open and respectful with others.
  • Willingness to take on big challenges and see them through.
  • Self-critical, questioning, and committed to personal excellence and self-improvement.
  • Agile and flexible–embracing change and seizing new opportunities
  • Most importantly, accountable for commitments, results, and quality to customers, partners, teammates and members of the community at large.
3. Community
We have an innate sense of responsibility for making a positive impact on society and empowering students, scientists, professionals and the general public through our education and outreach programs.
4. Fun
We believe it is critically important to celebrate achievement, applaud irreverence and maintain humor so that we stay creative and don’t take ourselves too seriously.
